What is 6th air refueling wing?

The 6th Air Refueling Wing is a unit of the United States Air Force stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. The wing provides aerial refueling support to U.S. and allied military aircraft, as well as strategic airlift capability for personnel and equipment. It is equipped with the KC-135 Stratotanker, a mid-air refueling aircraft that can carry up to 200,000 pounds of fuel and has a range of more than 4,000 miles. The 6th Air Refueling Wing is a part of the Air Mobility Command and is tasked with supporting global military operations and ensuring rapid mobilization and deployment capabilities. The wing has carried out numerous missions in support of humanitarian and combat operations, including operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
